If you get them, you know a migraine and a headache are nothing alike. Sure, they both form in your temples, but the similarities end there.Once your migraine hits, you may be forced to take the rest of the day off. You probably rely on over-the-counter pills, and you may even have a prescription medication for the pain.
Have you ever thought about seeing a chiropractor for your migraines? You’d be surprised how much of an impact it can make.
For migraine sufferers, the duration is often longer and the pain more uncomfortable than those who get headaches. They may have nervous system issues because of auras, a stage of a migraine. These include jerking motions, strange noises that might not really be there, speaking issues, lack of facial sensation, and vision issues, such as light flashes or halos in the vision.
Migraines may also lead to feelings of dizziness, blurry vision, vomiting and nausea, sound and light sensitivity (and perhaps even touch and smell sensitivity), and a throbbing ache.
Like headaches, there are all sorts of reasons you may have frequent migraines, like medications, differing weather, exercise, bright lights, stress, exhaustion, diet, and hormones.
Sometimes though, pain or pressure in the neck and/or back can contribute to how often you get migraines. In that case, chiropractic care for migraines is the best treatment option.
Through chiropractic techniques like spinal decompressions, adjustments, and manipulations, your chiropractor can lessen the pressure on the spine or neck. This pressure may exist because of pinched nerves, improper spinal curvature, or degenerated spinal discs and contributes to back and neck pain as well as migraines.
By seeing your chiropractor, within a few appointments, you should notice a difference in your rate of migraines. Eventually, you may not get migraines at all.
